President’s Message

World Mission University was founded on March 27, 1989, based on the evangelical Protestant faith, with the mission of preparing missionaries, pastors, and Christian leaders who embody a balanced integration of spiritual formation and intellectual excellence. Since its establishment, the University has experienced steady growth and institutional development, receiving full accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) and the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). In addition, the University has been granted Eligibility Status by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), one of the most respected accrediting bodies in the United States, and is actively preparing for full accreditation, thereby strengthening its academic quality and institutional capacity.

Currently, the University offers a wide range of academic programs—including theology, music, counseling, coaching, nursing, social work, worship studies, and global leadership—at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Through both on-campus and online education, the University serves not only the local community but also the global Korean diaspora. Our graduates faithfully serve as pastors, missionaries, worship and music ministers, counselors, coaches, nurses, social workers, and lay leaders, contributing meaningfully to both church and society.

In particular, the University is preparing to launch an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program in 2026 as part of its commitment to strengthening nursing education. In addition, the University is actively preparing for WSCUC accreditation and pursuing participation in the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III program to further enhance its educational infrastructure, student support systems, and overall academic quality.

In today’s rapidly changing world, there is an increasing need for Christian leaders who can integrate faith and professional competence. In response, the University is strengthening its competency-based education model to equip students with both Christian spiritual maturity and professional expertise, enabling them to faithfully live out their calling in diverse ministry and professional contexts.

World Mission University remains firmly committed to its founding mission as a Christian educational community, preparing leaders to serve both church and society. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the faithful partnership of our supporters, the University will continue to grow and fulfill its calling as an institution dedicated to advancing God’s mission in this generation.

Sincerely,

Sungjin Lim, DMin.
