37th Student Council President Election
Park Yu-Jeong (DMin.C C, Ph.D. candidate in Counseling and Pastoral Ministry) was elected as the 37th Student Council President.
The Election Management Committee was formed last March, and students Kook Joong-Seok (MDiv.) and Lee Ji-Hyun (PhD CH) were elected as committee members, who oversaw the entire election process. The process began with candidate registration on March 17 and concluded on April 10, resulting in Park Yu-Jeong running unopposed.
Candidate Park Yu-Jeong campaigned from April 10 to 17 and concluded her campaign with a policy speech on the 17th. Subsequently, voting took place over two days, April 20–21, for all students. Based on these results, a general assembly was held on April 21 at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific Time), presided over by current Student Council President Lee Seon-young. The Election Committee announced the election results (97 votes in favor, 0 against), presented the certificate of election to candidate Park Yu-Jeong, and concluded the general assembly.
Newly elected President Park Yu-Jeong, a former department representative in the Graduate School of Counseling, had already demonstrated her qualities as a good leader through her previous service, earning the trust of many students and being nominated as a candidate for student body president. In her acceptance speech, President-elect Park Yu-Jeong stated that her strengths lie in “care and communication.” She pledged to lead the Student Council for the coming year with this spirit and to serve as a bridge uniting all students.
